In Loving Memory

Cindy
(1981-1994)

A wriggling pup of furry white
At first just ankle tall
With so much love and energy
You could barely hold it all

A brand new bed, I had my doubts
Said I, "She won't sleep there"
But in a flash, you stepped right in
Then fixed me with a stare

And any task done near the floor
Would bring that curious nose
Just to see if you could help
By nibbling on our toes
Not content with merely one
You'd bring us toys in pairs
And if we'd tire before you did
You'd toss them down the stairs

Insistent snaps at dinnertime
(Which seemed earlier each day)
Were tempered by a generous heart
And those kibbles you gave away

The sweetest smile (yes, dogs can smile)
And kisses all were free
You made our house a loving home
We miss you,"Little C"
